Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage title Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna reference. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang together with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was able to appear on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. Then, on the 9th November she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles called No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later she released the song as a solo single for the album she released her debut. The track was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over 3 million times within the first 7 days. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
